Congratulations to all the riders & horses that were on the 2009 Top Ten of the USEA Area II Leader Board! On behalf of the USEA Area II, we are pleased to honor your achievements! We wish everybody much success in the upcoming 2010 competition season and in your future eventing endeavors. There certainly were some hotly contested divisions (friendly competition!), which added to the fun! Please check out the USEA Area II website, a lot of the riders have been featured under the Points & Awards Program section. In December at the national USEA convention we even had a couple of BIG poster-boards decorated with the 2009 Champions and Reserve Champions at the Area II Awards presentation table!
The 2010 Registration is now open so go ahead and join and have some extra fun in 2010! Remember this program differs slightly from the National program, so it’s a good idea to read the rules and review eligibility, how points are calculated, fees, and deadlines. The 2010 Forms and Rules are now available on USEA Area II website under Points and Awards Program.
Note: 2010 USEA Area II Rules/Points have been improved! (for example: you now earn double points at Area II championships, you now earn points higher than 5th place, T3D points have changed and more!) For a mere $20 registration fee you can be part of the fun! (unless you register late than it’s a little more)
If you are registering for the 2010 USEA Area II Year End Awards Program, please don’t forget, the program has a “Volunteer Incentive” component. Our sport can only exist with everybody getting involved so please volunteer, this can be by volunteering as a fence judging, scoring, scribing, set up, take down, stuffing packets, or really just about anything directly relating to eventing. The total hour requirement can be completed in any variety of ways. For example, volunteering for one day at an event, or two half days at different events. So when you plan your 2010 competition calendar, schedule to do some volunteering of at least 8 hours during the current calendar year, preferably at an Area II recognized event. All you have to do is contact an organizer to find out how you can help. They are waiting for your call! Please don’t make us chase you for a volunteer confirmation, volunteering can be just as rewarding as competing!
It is the rider’s responsibility to check this website during the season and verify that the points shown are accurate. It is also the rider’s responsibility to submit any “out of area” points as those are not tracked automatically. All of the points tracking are done manually, and mistakes can be made, so please contact me with any possible discrepancies.
The USEA Area II Year End Awards Program has always been a self funded program, for 2010 we would like to introduce a new feature based on some member inquiries. In response for 2010, if you feel generous, please consider sponsoring the 2010 USEA Area II Year End Awards Program. Any questions, feel free to contact me.
