USEA Area 2 Eventing

Four of us from New Jersey (Carey Williams, Anne Seline, Jorgen & Nick Olijslager) set off to GMHA in Vermont to participate in the Classic Format Training & Novice Three Day this past week. What an amazing adventure! Let me first say eventers are a really fun bunch of people!!! We cheer each other on all day-long, yes, us New Jersey folks are maybe a little louder than the New Englanders! Another example of the camaraderie; Anne was practicing her jog in the parking lot and her hat goes flying (dressed for a “garden party”!)... looked at me and asks if I have any bobbypins... sure I have those in my pocket.. NOT! A random lady walks by... here I have a few! How cool is that!!!

The Adult Rider Training Three Day at Waredaca has brought Eric to the US to help in the educational portion of the T3D and Area II has arranged for him to stay over for two days and provide that educational benefit to all members of Area II. This “clinic” is open to all Area II members!

This clinic is open to all, Adults, Young Riders, Juniors, Parents and Trainers.  It is designed to be a “walking” clinic where the participants will be outfitted with radios with headsets so that everyone can hear Eric and benefit from his valuable knowledge and insight into Eventing.  It is a unique opportunity to hear and see what a Judge is looking for in the Dressage Phase, then there will be the opportunity to go out on Cross Country on two separate days and walk courses, watch horses go cross country, and watch and walk Show Jumping courses.  There will be evening lectures and lots of opportunities for one on one with Eric.

The clinic is being sponsored by your Area II Council in conjunction with the Area II Adult Rider Sponsored T3D.  It is a unique opportunity to spend important educational time with a top FEI Judge, Clinician and Competitor on site at an event.

Area II Adult Riders to have essay contest to win 3 days with Yvonne Lucas

For the second year in a row, Advanced-level eventer Yvonne Lucas of Red Moon Farm has generously donated a 3-day/4-night mini-camp for T3D aspirants. A firm believer in the value of the long-format, Lucas has been a long-time supporter of both the Area II Adult Riders Training Three-Day.  An active member of the Area II Adult Riders program, Lucas also offers free course walks to members at the many area events where she can be found competing.
